It's been a while since I last purchased any shoes from Radii footwear, and it seems that the box isn't the only thing that's taken a drastic change. Since my last pair of Straight Jackets (purchased a couple of years back), it seems as though Radii has made some changes to the way they manufacture the shoe. Of course, I'm not 100% sure about that statement. However, this is a sincere conclusion I have come to after comparing this shoe with my old ones.
First off, the shoe runs narrow. I couldn't even get my foot into the shoe initially, and even after re-lacing the shoe it still didn't provide much more comfort. I don't consider myself to be a person with wide feet - as I've never quite encountered this problem before, even within the same brand. The other pair of Straight Jackets I own fit me quite comfortably, and both shoes were purchased in the same size so I don't know what could have happened for this shoe to be so off in that department.
Aside from being too narrow, the shoe is also not all that true to size. I purchased this shoe in my usual size (once again, using the knowledge I thought I had obtained from my last pair of Straight Jackets) yet my toe doesn't quite fill the interior like it should. This creates an unusual dilemma, since having the shoe in my actual size feels like wearing a vice grip on my foot yet I know that if I go up a half size to make up for the tightness, the shoe will end up being too long.
Cons out of the way, the shoe does sort of redeem itself when it comes to style but you'll need to know what you're getting into beforehand to understand how.
The shoe is made of a satin upper with leather used for the straps. This satin material can easily come off as being nylon, but seems to be smoother in comparison to actual nylon. I can't imagine how one would go about cleaning this shoe but on the upside, the satin gives the sneaker a natural luster which aids in enhancing its soft colorway. Depending on the lighting in the room, the color will either be more vivid like the thumbnail used here or more pastel; either way, it's a sight to behold. Another cautionary note is that the buckles aren't all that sturdy, so you might want to limit how often you adjust your straps. Speaking of straps, the extra straps and laces that are included with the shoe are yellow. Personally, I would have preferred white, but that is just my own little pet peeve.
So, overall, this shoe looks amazing! But with fitting issues in both the width and length departments, flimsy feeling buckles and a unique material, this shoe might just prove to be more than a hassle than its worth. I get that they are called Straight Jackets, but that's not an excuse to make them fit like one. Comfort always trumps over style in my book, and this shoe is one of the most uncomfortable I've ever worn. Fortunately, if you decide that you absolutely MUST have them, there are products that might be able to adjust them. A shoe stretcher can provide some relief if the shoe proves to be too tight, and if you encounter the same issue with length that I have, there are also products out there to reduce the amount of creasing within the toe box of your sneaker. That said, buy responsibly and keep in mind that this shoe will require more care than your average set of kicks.
Pros: stylish, unique
Cons: Poor Fit, runs narrow

Not the typical Straight Jacket shoe at all. I wouldn't recommend them if you plan on wearing them many times. I have plenty pairs of Straight Jackets but these are by far the strangest..... The Straps on these lol are the only Leather in the shoe. And I know you can kinda tell that BUT WHAT YOU DONT KNOW IS THAT THE OTHER GREEN IS A IDK WTH TYPE OF MATERIAL lhh. I really just had to go get the shoe to "examine" it seriously... smh.... The other green (not the straps) is a Nylon material... which will show usage immediately... So if you get them only wear them a couple times is what I would recommend. I've only worn mine once and Im thinking about retiring them. But honestly about 5 ppl asked me what kinda shoe I was wear that day forreal. So if your going for that odd factor or something in between I would say get them. But expect not to be wearing these very often...
Pros: Sneaderhead Approved, something different
Cons: Poor Construction, nylon!!!!!!!!!!!!
