Pros: -Great looks. I'm very picky about style and these are definitely a step above the large majority of high-tops out there, especially at the price. You can see the pictures yourself-- that's what they look like. They go great with any jeans and are a nice neutral color. Cool and casual without being gaudy. The details are actually pretty unique. -Light weight. The outsole is solid EVA foam, not rubber. -Not floppy or made of tissue paper.
Cons: -Fit is slightly narrow. -Comfort is so-so. They're neither very flexible nor particularly cushy. Like most shoes they'll probably improve after breaking in (haven't had them that long yet). -Synthetic materials don't scream "quality." -Some small cosmetic imperfections. Fairly expected at this price point. Not something that will be noticed at a distance. -Outsoles are not flat. They come out quite warped.
**And the one BIG con that really needs be be emphasized:** -The EVA foam soles are VERY SLICK. They do not provide traction. The texture is very slight and the EVA is not at all tacky like rubber. It's very soft and smooth. I can feel the shoes slipping around just walking on the floors in my house (hardwood, stone tile). I get more traction in socks. You will NOT be running, playing basketball, or skateboarding in these. Avoid ice and wet floors at all costs. This is absolutely the worst thing about these shoes, and it makes them difficult to rate because despite looking great this is borderline unacceptable. Some may be able to live with this but I find it frustrating that my cheap, years-old sneakers with rubber soles that are literally worn through provide significantly more traction, even though that was a main reason to finally get rid of them.
All in all I find it difficult to recommend the shoe. If you want them to look great at an affordable price, they definitely do that. If you want them to actually function as shoes, I'm not so sure.
Note: If you really like the Propulsion Hi style they do make some with rubber soles, which without a doubt will be better, but as far as I know not in this colorway (which is my favorite), and some of them belong to the much pricier Android Homme line.
